Angie Swadley

Angie Swadley, 44, passed away April 20, 2013, due to a pulmonary embolism from an injury sustained from a motor vehicle accident.  Angie was a woman who had a heart for children and a laugh that would fill the room. She owned a daycare for sixteen years before her passing. Watching children grow and making a difference in their lives was her daily passion. She lived for helping those around her in any way possible. Therefore, her family has created a memorial fund, so they may continue to help others in her honor.

Memorial Scholarship

After Angie passed, a large number of individuals donated to the fund. In order to sustain the funds and continue to help the account grow, her family decided to join the Purdy Festival and host a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk. All proceeds from the race go to the memorial fund.

Each year in the spring, a Purdy High School senior is awarded a $1,000 scholarship toward their education. In order to receive the scholarship, the senior must demonstrate leadership, community service, financial need, and their future plans to work with children. Someday we hope to grow large enough to provide a scholarship for two deserving seniors.
